My wife.

I love saying those words.

She’s mine, and if she thinks I’m going to let her run without tracking her down and bringing her back to where she belongs—with me—then she’s about to be introduced to a new reality.

Because I’ll fight dirty to give her the happily ever after she deserves.

I started out with this story hating Holly. Really hating Holly. I wanted to take back all the nice things I had said about her in my review for book 1, Dirty Billionaire, because I was so pissed off at her for running again. It was juvenile.

It pissed me off even more when everyone was blaming Creighton as the reason for Holly running, rather than looking at the fact that Holly was immature and needed to just put on her big girl panties and deal with stuff, especially considering her behavior in the first couple of chapters in order to forget Creighton and not deal with her problems, which to me seemed to be all in her imagination.

Then I kept reading, and Creighton came back into the picture and I love Creighton. I was worried Creighton would turn into a sap, but fortunately he didn't. Thankfully, he still was a dirty talking, confident, alphahole, which was what I fell in love with in the first place.

I think I started to forgive Holly a little because she still had feelings for Creighton and she didn't actively push him away when he showed up to get her back. I sincerely do not understand her confusion, nor do I understand it, especially when later she says:

Me walking out and coming here was probably the best thing I could’ve possibly done.”

... because that made me really lose respect for her as a person. How is being a serial runner possibly a good thing?

I could probably continue to rant about some of the things Holly did which got on my nerves, like how naive she was with her mother but I'll focus on some of the things she did which won points from me, like not flipping out on Creighton when she found out about the record label, like not running again when the shit hit the fan and choosing to support Creighton when he needed her most.

I have to hand it to Creighton though, he really knew what to do to get his girl back, and while I was wondering what the heck she ever did (nothing!) to deserve him, I am totally on board with his tactics. He's so incredibly sweet and romantic, I'm ready to melt into a puddle of goo for him.

From that point on, it was all about Creighton for me. I figure, if I could just ignore Holly long enough to read the parts about Creighton and get to the end, I'd be okay. Thank goodness, we got the sexy, dirty Creighton back in this story which we didn't get in Dirty Pleasures.

The plot twist with Creighton's uncle was crazy and bizarre but you could tell from the previous books something was brewing in that relationship, which then got too complicated to sort out because, how do you fix that? Oh simple, throw in an equally bizarre new character who waves a magic wand and makes it all go away. The answer to all Creighton's problems was equally too easy.

I honestly didn't think I'd finish the series since I was so pissed off with Holly, but I persevered. I'm glad they got their happy ending, but more importantly for me, I'm glad Creighton got his happy ending.

About the author

auMeghan March is the author of contemporary and erotic romance novels.

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She's also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she's ever had. She loves hearing from her readers.
