Life isn't easy for a modern-day dragon shifter. Unlike those wuss werewolves, dragons can't just shift and go for a run through the nearest forest. They can't go flying on a whim. Forget about scared villagers slinging arrows; these days it's Neighborhood Watch zealots with AK-47s. Then there's the whole sex issue. Try telling the little cutie at the local Starbucks that a soul-shattering orgasm might end in bed flamb . No, being a dragon shifter kinda sucks. And for Tyson, it's even worse-because he's suddenly in heat. Bad news for the stranger he spies running along Bondi Beach. Ty instantly recognizes Sera as his mate. Now he has to convince her, while also dodging the psychopathic dragon hunter on his tail. Scorching sexual persuasion should do the trick. Hopefully. Because if Ty doesn't join with his Fire Mate before his heat cycle finishes, bad things will happen. Lots of bad things.

I adore anything dragon, so when I found our Lexxie Couper had a dragon book, I was all over it.

Mmmm ... dragon shifters.

This is a short, sexy story of a dragon in heat. I loves stories about dragon's in mating heat. :-) Ty is the dragon in question, who lives in Sydney and is swept away when his fated mate jogs past him on Bondi Beach and changes his life. In a frenzy to find her and claim her, while dodging a dragon hunter out to claim his heart as a prize, he's got his work cut out for him. Lucky for him, Sera, his chosen lady is also being swept up by the mating frenzy and eager to get into some hanky panky with him.

There's not much to expect out of this story other than a frenzied ride through the streets of Bondi while Ty and Sera get into some sexy shenanigans without getting caught or seen. There are lots and lots of sexy shenanigans and fortunately, I was in the mood for it.

This was a most satisfying read for me. Right book, right time. I'm looking forward to reading book 2. I'm all about the dragon shifters.

I have only one quibble about the book and it's the Americanisms thrown in (I'm assuming for the American audience) which completely threw me out of the story. Those were things I noticed immediately as being un-Australian, given the story was set in Australia. Unfortunately, Americanizing a story set in Australia took away from it's authenticity. I'm not talking about American English vs Australian English, but actual cultural references which were out of place in an Australian setting. I'm told this will be re-released soon and all these cultural inconsistencies will be removed, for which I am really, really glad.

About the author

auLexxie Couper started writing when she was six and hasn’t stopped since. She’s not a deviant, but she does have a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get erotic romances that can make you laugh, cry, shake with fear or tremble with desire. Sometimes all at once.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It’s the best of both worlds – old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

Lexxie lives by two simple rules – measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she’s laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.
